INTRODUCING THE FIRST ANNUAL HEY NONNY POETRY PRIZE DRAWING

Despite her mere 28 days, February is the longest month of the year. She's filled with darkness, cold, and tortured love . . . enter poetry.

To help us muddle through the month, we're having a contest. In exchange for a little engagement with poetry, you will be eligible for one of the following awesome prizes:

Awesome Prize #1

Awesome Prize #2

Awesome Prize #3

SOMEONE MAY ENTER! THREE WILL WIN!

Join the party in two easy steps:
  • Step 1: Enter the Contest
Send me an EMAIL (annelhansen@gmail.com) with the full text (or a link to the full text) of a favorite (or least favorite--poetry haters, you know who you are) poem. We're taking the populist view of poetry, so it can be anything from Shakespeare to song lyrics.

Ask TWO thoughtful questions about your poem. I will post new submissions every Thursday.

  • Step2: Increase your Chances to Win
Once you have submitted your poem, post a response to someone else's submission. I will enter your name once for your original submission and once for each comment.

The first place winner gets first choice at a prize, and so on. Only one prize per contestant. East Coasters, I will ship.

Humor me. It will be fun.

  1. This is my kind of poetry contest. I like digging up good poems, but ask me to write one and you'll be sorry. Thanks for starting February on the right foot (and meter).
